Monday, July 24th, 2006

Today I’m at NPUC 2006 -
New Paradigm in Using Computers, taking place in the IBM Almaden
Research Lab, Calfornia. This year’s session is entitled "Power to the
users: the new web".
Although the registration was full 12 hours after opening, I managed to get a spot by using a poster presenter slot.
My
poster is entitled "A Wiki test tracking solution", and focuses on the
collaboration and social implicattions of using a wiki to track the
testing phase of a software product.
Regarding the conference, it has a very interesting program, with the featured speakers:

  • Sam Ruby, IBM - "Teenager on the go"
  • Rob Miller, MIT - "Automization and Customization of Rendered Web Pages"
  • Stewart Butterfiled, Yahoo, Flickr co-founder - "Flickr and the User"
  • Ross Mayfield , SocialText - "New Paradigms in Social Computing"
  • Tom Gruber, RealTravel.com - "The people-powered web"
