Usually, the glitch is just a few hundred or thousand percent in the company’s (de)valuation, but today it hit all records: 10,647,115,776.00%!!! One stock went up 10,647,115,776.00% in a single trading day, to a stock value of 8,619,905,024.00

I just which I had bought one single stock of this company yesterday ;-)

It would be cool if NYSE servers had this type of glitch. The stock market would be much more fun and not so boring and depressing as it has been over the past months.

Although I am yet to make a few cents on advertising, the reason why I keep the ads running is that I do plan to write a detailed comparison of both tools sometime in the future. Google beats all of its competitors in context search and advertising, but in my opinion Yahoo is so behind only by self responsibility. From several constructive comments I’ve made on their YPN Blog, the answers, if any, were vague and the problems persisted, with completely out of context ads.

But today I found something really fun while browsing trough one of my articles, “The World is Flat“:

Food for thought:

  • being Friedman’s book such an actual and popular topic, how can Yahoo not find any more relevant ads to publish in this page?
  • Google paying for ads in the Yahoo network? This one makes even less sense :-)

This tool is already available in Photoshop CS3 and it allows you to clone part of your picture maintaining the perspective distortion of the subject.

This feature was developed by Pedro Alonso as one of GIMP’s projects for Google Summer of Code, and you can find some video tutorials and examples on his website. I gave it a try, and the result was this:

However, what I had never noticed was the appearance of a "Related Pages" section bellow the sponsored links. It also displays context sensitive links, but not to paid ads. Instead, it displays links to news related with the content of your email (or sort of related :-) ). In my case, I was reading an email writen in portuguese and the "Related Pages" entries were links to news in two portuguese newspapers. 

This feature is not announced on the Gmail What’s New page, so I’m not sure for how long it has been there but today it was the first time I noticed it.

I don’t need my Wordpress Google Sitemaps plugin anymore, since through the RSS feed, google can index all the new posts. Regarding site indexing tools, Yahoo! provides the Yahoo! Site Explorer, that accetps RSS/Atom feeds to index your website.
